Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in analytical functions, preferably for marketing analytics use cases
  • Advanced degree preferred in a highly quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical techniques and machine learning concepts (e.g., multivariate regression, statistical inference, Supervised- and unsupervised learning, etc.) and experience applying these to use cases
  • Proven fluency in Python and scientific related frameworks (e.g., Scikit Learn, Numpy, SciPy etc.)
  • Experience with SQL and related data access and analysis tools to mine data, identify insights, and extract features
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform
  • Hands-on experience with designing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning pipelines
  • Hands-on experience working with Databricks
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to communicate complex ideas to various audiences in both a technical and user-friendly language
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently by handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude
  • Energetic and self-motivated with a strong sense of curiosity - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations
  • View the 'big picture' and drive towards business results
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, research-oriented team

Nice To Haves

  • Practical experience with CI/CD and MLOps best practices and tools (Git, Airflow, MLflow, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience working with customer-level data within Retail, e-commerce or related industries
  • Experience developing and deploying deep learning and AI models in production environments
  • Experience with Apache Spark (PySpark, and Spark ML)
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., Tensorflow, Torch, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software development principles and architectures (Agile Software Development, etc.)
  • Understanding of causal and uplift models

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced analytical models to optimize communication and operational tactics, while generating overall efficiencies across Ulta Beauty
  • Research and implement new machine learning approaches and techniques to drive innovative analytical solutions that solve business problems and identify insights
  • Explore our rich, omnichannel and customer data assets across our 45M+ Ultamate Rewards loyalty program members to construct analytical solutions for improving and personalizing Ulta Beauty guests' experiences
  • Develop a strong partnership and collaboration with internal Ulta Beauty teams and external advertising partners, performing as a key partner who consults on how to attain business goals through advanced analytics
  • Explain and present complex analytical approaches and model results in a concise manner to drive alignment and outcomes from business partners
  • Assess and understand the cost/benefit relationship of developing and deploying learned models based on changing business needs
  • Ensure data integrity and quality by leveraging proven methodologies, including data reconciliation, data integration and data audits
  • Continue driving a data driven culture across Ulta Beauty and mentoring less experienced team members on AI/ML techniques and MLOps

  • The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $120,000.00 / Year
