The People Science & Analytics team at Roblox partners with our People, Places, & Systems organization to apply data science, applied statistics, and analytics to our internal operations. We deliver insights and solutions that shape Roblox's approach to leadership, people development, and organizational culture. As a Senior Data Scientist in the People Analytics pod, you will join this team to solve complex challenges using qualitative and quantitative data, driving strategic decisions across the company. We are responsible for developing and managing Roblox’s HR data warehouse, analytical tools, and reports which support data-driven HR initiatives and are used by internal stakeholders throughout the company.

  • Serve as an analytics consultant to key partners in HR, Talent Acquisition, and Finance where you will apply your expertise in data science, applied statistics and analytics engineering to build tooling and identify insights that drive strategic and operational improvement.
  • Conduct end-to-end analyses on large, complex datasets to diagnose operational challenges, tell a compelling story, and provide actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Design, build, and maintain data products and automated workflows that scale our team's analytical offerings and support our partners' long-term needs.
  • Uphold a high standard for data integrity and analytical rigor, working through ambiguity to produce clear, defensible insights.
  • A MBA / Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Data Science Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields.
  • 4+ years of professional experience with SQL.
  • 4+ years of statistical programming in R/Python and/or analytics engineering experience in Python.
  • 4+ years of professional experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Looker, Hex, etc.).
  • Proven ability to execute complex and cross functional projects from ideation through completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work through ambiguity to delivery on projects that have driven organizational change.
  • Proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and discuss appropriate tradeoffs.
  • Highly self-driven and intellectually curious with a growth mindset focused on maximizing organizational impact.
  • A consistent track record to learn quickly and works well both independently as well as in a team setting.
  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise HR/People data systems (e.g., Greenhouse, Workday, Qualtrics) and/or experience working with non-technical operations teams.
  • 2+ years of experience in causal inference, experimental design, and statistical modeling.
  • 2+ years of experience with data orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) and deploying data pipelines.
