Arevon is recruiting for the position of Data Scientist on the Market Operations team, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries of the 21st century. The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing algorithms, predictive models, and optimization methods to support Arevon’s energy storage portfolio. This position will collaborate with other teams throughout Arevon to develop and understand development and operating assumptions for both new investment opportunities, as well as current assets.

Requirements

  • Direct experience working with power market data and analytics (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO, PJM, or similar).
  • Experience in modeling, forecasting, or optimizing within power/energy markets.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis and quantitative modeling.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R; strong SQL.
  • Proficiency with mathematical programming/optimization and model validation.
  • Ability to manage and analyze large, unstructured datasets using distributed computing platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex quantitative findings into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the improvement of price forecast models for power markets—including day-ahead, real-time, and long-term price projections for power and ancillary services.
  • Analyze large-scale power market datasets (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO) to identify trends, drivers, and risks affecting price formation and asset value.
  • Translate quantitative research and market analysis into actionable insights for trading, asset management, and investment decisions.
  • Stay current on market rules, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in energy markets, integrating this knowledge into modeling and strategy.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
