About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a STEM field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or computer science)
  • 2+ Years of Experience in Data Science or related fields
  • Proficiency in SQL or another data manipulation programming language (e.g. Python, R)
  • Familiarity with at least one visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Streamlit, Databricks, Hex)
  • Knowledge of statistics concepts and modeling, and how to apply them to practical questions
  • Strong written communication skills, verbal communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with applying analytics skills to projects, which have had impact on business strategy and performance
  • Proven ability to translate data into compelling and easy-to-understand insights, stories, and narratives that resonate with technical and non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ Years of Experience in Data Science or related fields OR 2+ Years of experience in Data Science along with a post-graduate degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Experience with establishing metrics frameworks
  • Experience with data quality assessment, and the development of data infrastructure and downstream data solutions
  • Experience with work automation or AI implementation, report generation, and basic API interaction to solve business problems
  • Ability to use Git to collaborate with others and contribute to dynamic codebases
  • Experience working with people data (e.g., HR data, survey data, human behavior data) in an applied setting

Responsibilities

  • Understand the people insights needed to drive decision making at Atlassian, and design products and insights in a way that inspires action
  • Scale actionable insights from people data by helping to enhance the data infrastructure, and innovating automated processes, reporting, and/or products
  • Evaluate the success of people programs and products by choosing appropriate analytical approaches, conducting rigorous analyses, and supporting measurement frameworks across key metrics and trends
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, other data scientists, business partners, behavioral scientists, data engineers, and product and program managers
  • Influence business decisions, roadmaps, and execution through insights and recommendations
