About The Position
The Data Science team at Albertsons Companies is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to contribute to one of the most transformational food and drug retailers in the United States. This role is pivotal in leveraging data science to enhance customer experiences and revolutionize the grocery industry. The team is dedicated to harnessing the power of AI and digital technologies to re-imagine the grocery experience. With access to extensive data from over 2,300 stores nationwide, the Data Science team is committed to applying data science to delight customers, improve store operations, optimize supply chains, and proactively enhance product lifecycles. As a Data Scientist, you will work with one of the richest datasets available, utilizing cutting-edge technology to translate insights into tangible business impacts. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with other data scientists and business partners to identify and define data science projects, as well as building machine learning algorithms and models on existing data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer science or a related field, with experience in working with large datasets and applying data-driven decision-making. A successful candidate will be both technically proficient and business-savvy, with a passion for impactful storytelling and timely actions. This position is primarily based in Pleasanton, California, but offers the flexibility to work virtually from anywhere in the US, with additional location options available upon request.
