About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist Intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, modeling, and interpretation within a dynamic environment. A Day in the Life of a Data Scientist Intern at AEP: o Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights. o Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven solutions to business challenges. o Visualize data and present findings to stakeholders using tools such as Tableau or Power BI. o Document processes and methodologies for future reference. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow).
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must have completed at least your sophomore year.
  • Graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship, OPT or CPT.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SQL for database management.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Previous internship or project experience in data analysis or related fields.
