About The Position

The Data Scientist III position involves performing sophisticated analytics, including statistical and predictive analytics, to provide actionable insights that improve business outcomes and minimize risk. The role includes consultation with business leaders on leveraging analytics insights and building strategies around analytics. The candidate will lead small projects and play significant roles in larger initiatives, acting as a resource for less experienced teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of six years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated domain expertise in banking, financial services, fin-tech, quantitative risk management, or financial regulation.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistics, programming (Python, R, SAS), machine learning, model development, and business information visualization.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Hadoop, Pig, Hive, NoSQL, and Spark.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field.
  • Ten years of relevant work experience if lacking a graduate degree.
  • Previous experience in the banking or fin-tech industry.
  • Experience with data science workspace within Adobe Enterprise Platform.
  • Experience with Graph Databases and related algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sophisticated data analytics on structured and unstructured data to identify actionable insights that improve business outcomes or reduce risk.
  • Support new, ongoing, and strategic projects, taking accountability for end-to-end data science solution design and delivery.
  • Extract and evaluate information from multiple sources, resolve data conflicts, and communicate key findings with recommendations.
  • Provide analytical consulting and thought leadership to various business areas, fostering strategic relationships with business partners.
  • Co-design optimal solutions to complex business problems using advanced data science capabilities.
  • Exercise sound judgment and foster a risk management culture throughout design, development, and deployment practices.
  • Research and advocate for the adoption of emerging methods and technologies in the data science field.
