About The Position

We are seeking an exceptionally passionate person to join our Marketplace Data Science team. As a Data Scientist focused on Carrier Pricing, you will be driving the evaluation and development of the dynamic pricing and bidding products carriers use to interact with Uber Freight’s digital marketplace. You will need to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, operations, business stakeholders, and other members of the Data Science team to solve problems, create efficiencies, and successfully deliver against high organizational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or related field
• 3 years of related experience
• Experience with SQL, Python

Nice To Haves

• Masters with 3 years of experience or Bachelors with 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
• Experience with Spark
• Advanced knowledge of experimental design and non experimental causal inference techniques
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience working in a digital marketplace and/or dynamic pricing domain

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis to understand emerging trends in the digital marketplace
• Perform statistical analysis to estimate the impact of changes to our carrier pricing algorithms before deployment
• Design, execute and analyze A/B and marketplace experiments to directly measure the business impact of changes to our pricing algorithms on both financial and service metrics
• Work efficiently at scale with large data sets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, and operations to drive system development end-to-end from conceptualization to productization
