About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist to join our dynamic team at First Bank. As part of our growing Data Science, Engineering and Analytics Team, you will have the opportunity to work with large datasets to develop data-driven solutions, improve business operations, and support decision-making processes across various departments.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQLServer)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods, data analysis, and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Understanding of databases and data processing techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • A team player with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of data science.
  • PowerBI (MS Data Analyst)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
  • Basic knowledge of financial products and banking operations.
  • Familiarity with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

Responsibilities

  • Support data warehouse application management.
  • Assist with maintaining analytic products
  • Understand and Assist with data security.
  • Analyze large sets of financial data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business strategies.
  • Develop and implement predictive models, statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms to solve business challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including but not limited to finance, marketing, and operations) to understand business problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Assist in creating dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prepare and clean datasets, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Support senior data scientists in building and optimizing models for various banking applications.
  • Contribute to automating data processing workflows and model deployment.
  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date with emerging trends in data science and banking analytics.
  • Works with project and business leaders to identify data management requirements.
  • Manages aspects such as data sourcing migration, quality, design and implementation.
  • Scopes, plans and prioritizes multiple tasks.
  • Completes annual compliance courses.
  • Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
  • Adheres to all levels of our Service Excellence standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.
