About The Position
The Data Scientist I position at Radian involves performing data modeling and analysis, developing analytical frameworks, and estimating and validating credit models. The role requires programming support for model estimation, implementation, monitoring, and back testing, as well as developing and maintaining cloud-based modeling frameworks. Responsibilities include preparing model estimations for delinquency, default, prepayment, and claim severity, analyzing standard reporting and model performance, and conducting model development and methodology research. The position also entails creating analytical presentations to communicate strategic business findings to management and recommending alternative credit structures and risk-sharing arrangements. Data manipulation of large files using R, Python, or SAS is essential to identify trends and make necessary adjustments to credit or portfolio guidelines. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
