About The Position

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week. This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on H1-B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, or TN visa, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp. Our AI Products group is looking for a talented, results-oriented, and innovative Data Science Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead a small, high-impact team of data scientists focused on solving meaningful business problems through the development of software products powered by machine learning, generative AI, and optimization techniques. You will partner closely with product managers, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver data science solutions that support partners in the energy and telecom space within our RV Home business. This role is well-suited for a hands-on leader who enjoys staying close to the work while scaling impact through others. You will contribute technically where it matters most, while also providing direction, prioritization, and clarity for your team in an environment that values experimentation, measurement, and continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree’s + 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree + 6 years of experience OR PhD + 4 years of experience
  • A proven track record delivering production data science solutions using machine learning and/or generative AI.
  • Experience working with LLM-based systems, including familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK or similar orchestration tools.
  • Solid understanding of the ML lifecycle and MLOps concepts, including deployment, monitoring, and iteration in production environments (e.g., experiment tracking, feature or prompt versioning, CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, and tools such as LangSmith, MLflow, or similar platforms).
  • Strong business acumen and a genuine interest for real-world business and partner problems, with the ability to translate open-ended needs into concrete, actionable data science initiatives while maintaining a clear line of sight from technical decisions to customer and business outcomes.
  • Comfort operating close to end delivery, balancing technical depth with clear communication and an understanding of how data science solutions fit into the broader product, operational, and business context.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring data scientists, with an interest in growing others while remaining technically engaged.
  • Contributing to applied ML solutions that drive customer acquisition, retention, and operational effectiveness, leveraging techniques such as recommendation systems, LLM-driven personalization, and supervised models of customer behavior

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of 2+ data scientists, providing technical guidance, clear priorities, and day-to-day execution support.
  • Partner with Data Science Product Managers, Engineering, and Product, and Business leadership to shape and deliver data science initiatives aligned with broader organizational strategy.
  • Translate ambiguous business and partner problems into well-scoped data science and AI solutions.
  • Contribute hands-on to the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of machine learning and generative AI systems.
  • Own technical decision-making for your team, including model approaches, tooling, observability, evaluation strategies, and operational best practices.
  • Drive a culture of experimentation, measurement, and iteration by defining success metrics and tracking impact over time.
  • Represent data science in cross-functional and customer-facing discussions
