Requirements

• Able and willing to work from our Redwood City, CA. office.
• Must be able to work full-time (40-hours per week) for 12-weeks during the summer of 2026 (May - September).
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD program in a technical or quantitative discipline.
• Candidates pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree must be graduating and obtaining the degree by June of 2027.

• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while paying attention to detail and translate analysis results into business recommendations.
• Ability to work independently, owning projects end-to-end, solving problems without much guidance.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance improvement and cost efficiency in our product through a deep understanding of the ML and infra system.
• Provide data-driven insights and scientific solutions.
• Work on and improve various components of our ad-tech stack including ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding and budget pacing.
• Conduct deep-dive analysis to influence R&D decisions and strategies.
• Analyze a large dataset with queries and scripts, extract valuable signals out of noise, and produce actionable insights.
• Design and deploy advanced optimization approaches to improve our ad-delivery.
• Identify the best ranking, retrieval and bidding strategies that strike the right balance between ROI and revenue trade-offs.
• Validate and quantify the efficiency and performance gain from hypotheses through rigorous simulation and modeling.
• Develop a robust experiment design and metric framework, and provide reliable and unbiased insights for product and business decision making.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest researches and developments in experimentation and causal inference.
