About The Position

Data Science Intern – Capital Markets Research Summary: The Data Science Intern is an excellent opportunity to develop modeling and analysis skills while working in a dynamic team to drive thoughtful insights to the firm’s institutional clients and internal consultants. The Intern will assist the Capital Markets Research team in exploratory data analysis, data cleaning, and statistical/predictive modeling. You will have strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable developing tools end to end. Furthermore, you have a keen interest in developing quantitative models, owning your work, and demonstrating data science techniques to reach conclusions to sophisticated financial problems. Requirements: Progress towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative program or computer science. Strong quantitative methods focus with understanding of financial concepts. Ability to communicate technical information at an audience appropriate level. Experience using Python for statistical analysis and automation; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, R, and cloud platforms (Azure or equivalent) would be helpful. Knowledge of applied machine learning and the underlying math concepts. Understanding of regression modeling, forecasting methods, and time series analysis. Interest in AI assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) is a plus. Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, methods, and technologies. Basic familiarity with Git/GitHub or version-controlled workflows. Facility with Microsoft Excel and Word, or equivalent. Responsibilities: Work alongside the team to improve and develop models as needed. Help maintain internal tools, services, and workflows that support quantitative research and investment decision-making. Help develop and improve statistical, predictive, and quantitative models, as well as supporting analytics tooling. Leverage AI-powered tools and machine learning in building tools and automating new and existing processes.
