FanDuel is looking for a Data Science Intern who will join and support the centralized Data Science team. In this role you will support the development and implementation of advanced models focused on enhancing customer experiences, while deepening the understanding of user behavior across marketing, product, and analytics. Some level of experience in personalization methods, ranking algorithms, and applied machine learning is highly valued. This role requires the ability to take ownership of open-ended, ambiguous problems, evaluate multiple approaches, and support with the delivery of production-ready solutions that directly impact the customer journey. In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

  • Support with the development and deployment of machine learning models to drive personalized recommendations and user experiences across business units
  • Perform analysis on large and complex data sets utilizing relevant tools (SQL, Python, Spark) and provide strategic contributions
  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to segment users and predict future behaviors, developing automated logic and decision algorithms to deliver a better experience to the customer
  • Support projects from start to finish, set proper expectations, and collaborate with other data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers to communicate technical findings and support data driven decision making
  • Support the integration and deployment of cross-functional and cross-organizational projects, developing process improvements
  • Stay up to date on the latest advancements in data science and leverage cutting edge technology
  • Learn from, brainstorm with, and enable others within the DS team and broader Data organization
  • Must be planning for bachelor's degree completion between August 2026 –June 2028, in a technical or STEM field e.g., computer science, natural science, Machine Learning, Engineering, applied physics, MIS, etc.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Must have U.S. Work Authorization and does not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be in commutable distance from or willing to relocate to designated office
  • Must be willing to be in office 2+ times per week
  • Expected Master’s degree completion between August 2026-June 2027, in a technical or STEM field
  • Prior classroom or workplace experience related to data science
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals
  • Experience with machine learning modeling
  • Able to communicate technical concepts simply and successfully, to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working well in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience working in a heavily regulated industry is beneficial
  • Excited to learn about building and using models to help create production level products and tools
  • You take ownership for your tasks and see features through from start to finish
