About The Position

This is a 10-week internship starting June 8 or 15 and is fully on-site at the listed office location. Department Overview The Computational and Decision Sciences (CDS) group is a multidisciplinary team at the intersection of data science, optimization, and systems engineering. We specialize in transforming complex engineering challenges into data-driven solutions by leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, simulation, and decision theory. Our mission is to empower strategic and operational decision-making across the company—whether it's optimizing supply chains, improving product reliability, or enhancing R&D efficiency. By combining deep domain expertise with cutting-edge computational tools, CDS drives innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • Currently a student earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Science Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Must be graduating between spring 2026 and August 2027

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in data analysis techniques
  • Proficient with Python/R/TypeScript/Rust/Go or similar language
  • Experience with functional or object-oriented scalable software design and development
  • Experience with algorithm development and implementation
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Hadoop and REST APIs
  • Working with open-source databases and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in teams

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing diverse sets of imperfect data and finding common patterns, themes and trends by using Big Data tools and machine learning
  • Develop APIs that would store process data, run analytics, generate KPIs
  • Build clear and concise data visualization dashboards
