The Data Science Modeling (DSM) practice within Milliman focuses on combining unique data assets with machine learning and AI to develop novel insights focused on healthcare. The Global Health Analytics (GHA) practice focuses on applying healthcare data and analytics across the globe to improve healthcare. What You Will Do This Internship will work with two Milliman practices. Data Science Modeling and Global Health Analytics. Both are focused on deploying and developing analytics to healthcare providers and payers across the globe. The Intern will work on a wide variety of projects that will include healthcare data analysis and light analytics engineering work. The role will also research individual healthcare markets and determine how to best approach markets, to help to adapt analytics to local markets.

Requirements

  • Current graduate student pursuing a degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, informatics or business/economics major
  • Completion of several data science college courses
  • Understanding of healthcare data and previous healthcare data analysis experience
  • Fluency in SQL, R, Python
  • Able to employ a variety of supervised and unsupervised machine learning methods (knowledge of large-scale machine learning is a plus)
  • Client-service oriented
