About The Position

Warner Bros. Discovery’s global technology organization sits at the intersection of tech, entertainment, and everyday utility. Our platform covers everything from search, catalog, and video transcoding, to personalization, global subscriptions, and more. As a pure tech organization, we are essential to Warner Bros. Discovery’s continued growth, building world-class products on our streaming platforms HBO Max and discovery+. The Data Science team is focused on driving better understanding of our customers through data and scientific methods. We do so by collecting 1st and 3rd party data and applying business logic and transformations that can be used for reporting/insights. We also leverage state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to improve the customer experience across our products. Our collective team is responsible for ingestion, collection, cleaning, and transforming data. This allows us to build reports and models to communicate with internal and external stakeholders, making meaningful impacts not only to our technology organization, but also with our world class content and marketing teams.

Requirements

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Understanding of machine learning, ideally in the recommendations/personalization domain.
  • Coursework completed in Statistics, Data Science, Data Visualization, Economics, and/or Applied Math/Physics is preferred.
  • Strong background/interest in experimentation, recommendation systems, & data visualization.
  • Hands-on expertise in SQL, Python, R, or other similar language.
  • Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake, and/or AWS.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience partnering with engineers, product managers and technical program managers is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with search and personalization of digital products (especially media content) is a plus.
