The Data Science Intern position at ABB for Summer 2025 offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in data science through various projects. Interns will assist in data collection, analysis, and the development of predictive models while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is designed to enhance personal education and employment opportunities within the Electrification Business.

  • Assist in data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing from various sources using Snowflake and Python.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Support the development and implementation of predictive models and machine learning algorithms using AI/ML frameworks.
  • Help build and maintain data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data science projects.
  • Document processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure reproducibility and compliance with company standards.
  • Work with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and project management.
  • Acquire practical experience to support academic studies and enhance personal employment opportunities.
  • Participate in mentoring and networking opportunities.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in relevant libraries.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and libraries.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management, preferably with Snowflake.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, like Databricks, Azure Cloud and tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed, cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous internship or project experience in data science or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience in data science projects.
