About The Position

The Data Science Intern position at Nightwing offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in AI/ML and advanced analytics. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that address complex business challenges. This role is designed for individuals passionate about data science and eager to contribute to the company's data strategy and insights generation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale
  • Strong interest in AI/ML, data science, and advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Experience in data wrangling, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis (EDA)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for model training and deployment
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Iceberg or distributed computing frameworks
  • Experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying machine learning models in production environments
  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Matplotlib/Seaborn for storytelling and insights presentation

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of AI/ML models to solve business challenges and enhance decision-making processes
  • Work with large datasets to perform data exploration, preprocessing, and feature engineering
  • Develop and test predictive and prescriptive analytics models using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
  • Research and apply the latest AI/ML methodologies and tools to improve model performance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and IT, to implement AI-driven solutions
  • Contribute to data visualization and storytelling to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Assist in the deployment of models into production and monitor model performance
