The Mercury Enterprise Data Science (EDS) team is the technology engine focused on utilizing advanced analytics to drive pricing and product excellence. We function as "One Team," leveraging data to solve complex business problems. Our core focus areas include: Pricing & Underwriting: Improving risk assessment models for accurate decision- making. Claims: Optimizing indemnity through predictive analytics. Growth: Driving business expansion through advanced customer and agent segmentation to identify new opportunities and optimize sales performance. We are seeking curious, passionate, and hard-working graduates to join our remote graduate program. In this role, you won't just "run numbers"—you will collaborate with engineers and product leaders to build solutions that impact the bottom line.

Requirements

  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Recently completed a bachelor's or both bachelor's and master's degree in a quantitative or Information Technology field (computer science, Data science, etc.)
  • Able to provide a cumulative GPA, as reported by your school. Minimum 3.0 GPA required, 3.5 or higher GPA preferred.
  • Graduation date on or after November 2025 but no later than June 2026
  • Planning to seek full-time employment by June 2026

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL are essential.
  • Analytical Mindset: Solid understanding of statistical models and machine learning techniques (Regression, Classification, Clustering, etc.).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity: A willingness to independently learn new tools and dig deep into ambiguous data problems.
  • Bonus Points: Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS), version control (Git), or visualization tools.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate & Learn: Complete a structured rotation through different areas of Data Science, building a solid foundation in advanced analytical techniques, statistical methods, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Build & Deploy: Go beyond analysis; identify relevant data sources, perform feature engineering, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement models into production.
  • Drive Innovation: Create and maintain monitoring procedures for model performance and proactively look for ways to improve accuracy and automation.
  • Collaborate: Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Intelligence, and IT teams to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable business strategies.
  • Visualize: Design automated dashboards and reports (using Python, SQL, or BI tools) to communicate results to stakeholders.
