About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Data Science - Analyst 5 in San Jose, CA What you will accomplish: Job Duties: Manage the business performance reporting cycle on a weekly, monthly & quarterly frequency relative to expectations as well as monitor and review historical, current and planned business performance. Communicate business performance and enable the business to take actions in a timely manner. Perform deep dive analytics into Volume, Revenue, Buyer/Seller metrics to identify trends and drive actions. Maintain and develop new operational metrics and deep dive tools that will help dissect performance quicker as well as drive best practices and frameworks for driving growth and profitability. Build ad hoc strategic analysis across functional efforts to support business objectives. Collaborate with multiple analytics teams to get their view on performance. Partial telecommuting permitted from a commutable distance. What you will bring:

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Business Analytics or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), Business Analytics or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Business Performance Analytics - conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills (2 years)
  • Marketing Analytics (2 years)
  • Supervised machine Learning – strong predictive analytics experience including setting up synthetic control for incrementality measurement (2 years)
  • Time series forecasting – experience in various methods of time series forecasting such as ARIMA, exponential smoothing and regression (2 years)
  • Python & R programming – experience in developing shiny dashboards and building automated processes in R or Python (2 years)
  • Data mining – Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy (2 years)
  • Deep data analytical expertise - Find the trends and implications within data to inform sound decisions (2 years)
  • Text Mining - Experience in building NLP models to analyze text data (2 years)
  • SQL/Tableau – Experience in Spark SQL and BI tools such as Tableau (2 years)
