About the team and the role: eBay, Inc. seeks Data Science - Analyst 4 in San Jose, CA

  • Design A/B tests and provide accurate data and decisions to deliver customized software solutions to fit specific needs and to drive the product improvement decisions.
  • Perform deep dives and collect and analyze vast amounts of eBay transactional and user behavioral data to spot trends, identify outliers and make informed decisions.
  • Present findings and perform knowledge sharing on a weekly basis to ensure data-informed decision making and accelerate decision-making efficiency.
  • Work with the product management, product engineering, data engineering, architecture, and operations teams to define key metrics to measure product success, develop automated ETL pipelines, and develop automated reporting tools.
  • Create a dashboard based on Tableau or Nous (an internal eBay owned tool) and automated emails.
  • Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Analytics, or a closely related field, plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation in Data Analytics or Data Science.
  • Experience with experimentation, designing and interpreting results from AB tests (2 years)
  • Experience building and debugging complex SQL scripts (2 years)
  • Experience building complex, data heavy Tableau dashboards (2 years)
  • Advanced statistics concepts: running and interpreting results from statistical tests, variance reduction techniques using Python (2 years)
  • Experience in distilling insights from large datasets (2 years)
  • Experience with summarizing complex analysis into clear and concise stories that are easy to digest for cross-functional audiences (2 years)
  • Experience with causal inference and techniques to control for selection bias - such as synthetic control (2 years)
  • Experience with structuring and simplifying ambiguous problems and designing appropriate analysis to solve them. (2 years)
  • Experience with ETL tools to build and automate data pipelines (1 year)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
