About The Position

The Data Reporting Officer is responsible for the end-to-end FR2052a schedule preparation, validation, review and submission process for the complex FR2052a report. In addition to the schedule specific duties, the Data Reporting Officer is responsible for promoting consistency and quality across the schedule processes. This position will sit in-office 5 days a week at our 214 N Tryon location in Charlotte, North Carolina or at 101 N Cherry Street location in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent education and related training
  • Ten years of work experience in access enterprise databases (Netezza, Oracle, DB2) and report development
  • Ten years of experience in SAS and/or SQL programming
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading, interpreting and writing detailed SAS/SQL statements
  • Proven experience writing detailed technical reporting requirements and communicating with developers and business users
  • Experience in regulatory or SEC reporting with extensive experience in CCAR reporting
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion Reporting and GL Master Data
  • Advanced Excel / VBA skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to define problems and persuasively present conclusions
  • Intelligent, strong and decisive leadership within an organization as a result of high integrity, intellectual clarity and a passion for excellence

Responsibilities

  • Guide planning, development and implementation of processes, including report creation for schedules, edit checks and reasonability checks to continually improve the quality of the schedule data.
  • Adhere to consistency requirements across the Regulatory Reporting Schedule processes.
  • Support relationship management with Treasury and Lines of Business, as applicable, and the development of the design, testing, and implementation of reporting changes.
  • Coordinate with lines of business SMEs and risk management to solidify their understanding of the report requirements for Regulatory Reporting and the need for information about system or other process changes as well as the data integrity requirements for the data
  • Provide thought leadership and creation of adequate testing and process controls to improve the integrity and accuracy of the reports from the source through report. This includes the development of proprietary data checking routines. Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts on processes, data interpretation, and regulatory concepts.
  • Escalate data quality issues to management and LOBs, and actively track root cause analysis and issue remediation. Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, automation, data quality, and controls.
  • Assist the Director of Financial Reporting in providing thought leadership on process improvements, detailed reviews and package preparation process.
  • Develop, present and review Code Changes Requests (CCR) and impact analyses with Director of Financial Reporting for approval prior and assist Director of Financial Reporting in providing effective challenge and review
  • Lead the daily, monthly, and/or quarterly preparation, review, and submission of regulatory reports. Serve as the SME for reporting rules, ensuring adherence to reporting instructions and supervisory guidance. Lead variance analysis and root cause review for anomalies or unexpected reporting trends.
