About The Position

This position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX, and will assist the Data Quality with fulfilling the various requirements of the Data Quality Management Control Program (DQMCP).

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing medical record documentation for medical coding accuracy; assisting with the analyzing the delivery of health care operations; and utilizing automated healthcare systems to obtain information and/or prepare reports.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Data Quality with fulfilling the various requirements of the Data Quality Management Control Program (DQMCP).
  • Under the DQMCP, capture or retrieval of data, the tracking of metrics and trends, and analysis of activities surrounding the input, processing, and output of data from the various computer programs or systems.
  • Perform a variety of technically complex duties to review and analyze medical data.
  • Validate the results of coding audits submitted by the functional proponent for the monthly DQMCP.
  • Review medical record documentation for coding accuracy and coordinate with the appropriate professional staff to resolve errors in order to improve the quality of coding.
  • Analyze, interpret, and summarize a variety of work processes performed by personnel in functionally different but interrelated operations using computer systems impacting data quality.
  • Identify training needs, proponent of the training, and assist proponents in developing training plans as appropriate.
