About the position
The Data Quality Developer Lead at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) is responsible for developing and implementing data quality solutions within the Data Governance Team. This role focuses on ensuring the highest quality of data across financial and regulatory projects, utilizing advanced data governance technologies and collaborating with various stakeholders to address data quality issues. The position requires expertise in data management, integration, and governance, along with leadership skills to mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data quality solutions according to the strategic roadmap.
- Analyze and design data quality rules and exception reporting.
- Collaborate with IT systems architects and database administrators to connect different systems.
- Coordinate with technology and development teams for application integration.
- Participate in development meetings to align priorities and share project challenges.
- Mentor junior team members and provide indirect leadership.
- Work with business teams to understand requirements and process gaps.
- Lead initiatives to resolve data quality issues and ensure accurate reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of experience in data quality and governance.
- Expert knowledge of banking products and data governance technologies.
- Experience with Collibra platform and data quality concepts.
- Advanced SQL knowledge on relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with Azure cloud services and data integration tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps lifecycle and tools (Git, Jenkins).
- Strong communication skills in English, including report writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Data Quality and Data Governance certifications.
- Experience in financial services industry with a focus on data quality.
- Familiarity with IBM Infosphere suite (Information Analyzer, Data Stage).
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
