About The Position

Fidelity National Financial (FNF) is seeking an experienced Data Protection Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level data protection solutions. This role focuses on building and integrating security controls, automating workflows, and ensuring compliance alignment across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver scalable and secure solutions. LOCATION This role can sit 100% remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience engineering data security tools and protection controls.
  • Strong foundation in security architecture, regulatory alignment, and storage-level protection controls.
  • Knowledge of best practices for data protection and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud) storing unstructured data.
  • Experience implementing systems, automation and integration solutions for security workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years engineering in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud) for structured/unstructured data.
  • Solid understanding of data protection principles, security architecture, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to design scalable, automated solutions for hybrid environments.
  • Strong ethics and commitment to safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Expertise in implementing storage-level protection controls and integrating them with enterprise security frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Varonis and Microsoft Purview for data protection and compliance alignment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to evolving technologies and organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated systems thinking ability to see interdependencies across processes, technologies, and policies to design holistic solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise data protection controls across structured and unstructured data.
  • Deploy and configure data protection platforms and integrate with compliance/security solutions.
  • Automate remediation workflows to address data protection gaps and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams to align technical controls with organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate proactive learning and application of data protection best practices.
  • Support lifecycle management and continuous optimization of data protection technologies.
