About The Position

This role is ideal for a skilled legal professional with expertise in privacy, data protection, and AI governance, seeking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-growing, global cybersecurity environment. The Data Protection & AI Counsel will work across internal legal, compliance, and technical teams to manage AI-related risks, third-party vendor engagements, and enterprise-wide privacy initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to shape AI governance programs, provide strategic guidance on evolving regulations, and develop practical, business-oriented solutions to complex compliance challenges. Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in privacy, data protection, and AI compliance.
  • Strong expertise in global privacy laws, including US, EU, and UK regulations, with ability to quickly adapt to other jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of AI governance frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, ISO, NIST AI RMF) and security best practices.
  • Proven ability to assess complex situations quickly and provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • Experience working collaboratively with legal, compliance, and technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, mitigate, and manage risks associated with AI deployment, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and advance enterprise-wide privacy, data protection, and AI compliance programs with a focus on third-party risk management and AI governance.
  • Support internal legal and procurement teams by providing expert guidance on privacy, AI, and data protection matters in vendor contracts, DPAs, security addenda, and AI provisions.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented advice to internal stakeholders to manage privacy, AI, and data protection risks across initiatives.
  • Identify, assess, mitigate, and track risks related to privacy, data protection, and AI to ensure compliance with global regulations and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development and maturity of AI Governance programs and monitor evolving regulatory landscapes such as the EU AI Act and US state GenAI laws.
  • Deliver internal training, resources, and guidance to support business units in managing compliance and risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and responsible AI practices.
