The Data Product Owner at IMG Academy plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. This position is responsible for collaborating with various departments to understand their business goals and requirements, ensuring that the Campus Data Team effectively supports these objectives. The Data Product Owner will manage the intake and prioritization of data requests, define requirements, establish acceptance criteria, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of the company's data ecosystem, including data collection, aggregation, processing, storage, and visualization, and the individual will work closely with teams in Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Enterprise Systems to enhance the company's data platform components. As an internal thought leader, the Data Product Owner will serve as a subject matter expert for senior management and operational leaders, providing insights derived from descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leading analytics initiatives and delivering mission-critical reporting and insights. They will employ a scientific approach to data analysis, utilizing experimental methods to test hypotheses across various datasets, ensuring optimal business performance. A key aspect of this role is to foster a supportive and healthy team culture, embodying the principles of servant leadership. The Data Product Owner will also be responsible for developing a user-centric product mindset within the Campus Data Team, enhancing awareness of the business context surrounding the company's various units and their data relationships. This includes partnering with leadership across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Customer Experience, Product, and Technology to gather business requirements and prioritize analytics delivery. The role involves defining, scoping, planning, and scheduling data and analytics initiatives, ensuring strong cross-functional communication and collaboration throughout the process. Additionally, the Data Product Owner will leverage data processing and visualization tools to provide actionable insights and create self-service reporting tools for stakeholders, while continuously seeking opportunities for innovative data analysis and insight generation.
