About The Position

The Data Processing Analyst at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center is responsible for managing electronic data entry and exchange for the patient accounting system. This role involves charge entry, payment posting, and ensuring accurate data transfer to third-party payers, while collaborating with department managers and billing staff to maintain an up-to-date charge master for optimal reimbursement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of data entry, 10-key, and general clerical standards administered by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Human Resources staff.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, review, and enter data generated by all departments.
  • Perform data entry of all payments received for services.
  • Handle data entry for necessary adjustments and refund requests to patient accounts.
  • Keep reports of all charges keyed by date of posting.
  • Assist with data entry of patient registrations and corrections.
  • Monitor charges by department to avoid misplaced charges.
  • Work with Department Managers, Coding, and Billing to match charges with appropriate billing codes.
  • Maintain accurate inpatient census by room number to create room charges.
  • Collaborate with computer service vendor to adapt to intermediary changes.
  • Print and maintain reports used by various departments.
  • Print all itemized statements, billing forms, and monthly statements.
  • Upload all statement files to third party vendor for processing.
  • Update charge master as instructed.
  • Enter daily patient and insurance receipts & adjustments.
  • Download electronic remittance advices.
  • Create electronic files for billing.
  • Review insurance remits for accuracy and report errors.
  • Assist with account reconciliation.
