The Data Platform Manager at Northrop Grumman is responsible for overseeing the establishment and ongoing operations of the data platform within the Enterprise Insights & Analytics organization. This role involves ensuring the platform's performance, reliability, and security while collaborating with stakeholders to optimize capabilities and costs. The manager will lead a team of architects and engineers, providing mentorship and project management oversight to enhance data analytics and integrations.

  • Oversee the requirements, design, implementation, and maintenance of the data platform.
  • Ensure robust performance, reliability, and security of the platform and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to understand needs and ensure platform capabilities support workflows while optimizing cost and capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain the strategic roadmap for the data platform, considering industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Manage and monitor platform performance, including resolution of issues.
  • Lead a team of platform architects and engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development.
  • Provide project management oversight of data platform efforts, including cost, schedule, and risk management.
  • 8 Years with Bachelors; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD or 15 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of enterprise data platform concepts including devops, data engineering, governance, security, compliance, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing cloud technology platforms.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and complete projects within critical deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with key project management principles.
  • Experience coordinating efforts of diverse, distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Math).
  • Experience managing enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience managing enterprise technology within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience with DevOps practices to include continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
