Department OverviewMcDonald’s is seeking a skilled Data Platform Engineer with expertise in Business Intelligence (BI) tools including Tableau, Microstrategy, Alteryx, or Power BI. The preferred candidate will demonstrate capability in deploying and administering BI solutions on cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS as part of the data platform engineering team. Responsibilities include BI tool administration, conducting solution assessments, researching and recommending sophisticated visualization and BI technologies, and presenting effectively cross-team with data architects, BI developers, data engineers, and product owners. Dedication to ongoing BI enhancements will play a central role in advancing our data-driven projects.Responsibilities and Accountabilities Play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence capabilities using Tableau, Microstrategy, Alteryx, or PowerBI. Review dashboard and report design, evaluate and recommend performance optimizations, and provide mentorship to developers based on standards and procedures. Share a point of view and thought leadership for new BI tool evaluations and enabling new BI capabilities. Deploy and handle BI data source connectors, data semantic layer, and business metrics. Manage BI role-based data access security and SSO BI tool integration. Guide BI software upgrades, collaborate on testing new functionalities, and maintain enterprise security standards. Migrate content between environments. Coordinate both Production and non-Production environments across verticals areas, including sizing and capacity prioritizing when required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in information technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience building and deploying BI dashboards, visualizations, and analytical reports utilizing Tableau, Microstrategy, Alteryx, or PowerBI.
5+ years coding advance SQL and experience with database technologies like BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or Redshift.
3+ years of experience as a BI architect or administrator for Tableau, Microstrategy, Alteryx, or PowerBI.
3+ years of experience with cloud services like GCP and/or AWS.
GCP, AWS, Tableau, Microstrategy, Alteryx, or PowerBI certifications.

Nice To Haves

Ability to make the appropriate BI design and tools selection recommendations based on project requirements and standard methodologies.
Proven Experience: Understanding of the industry and business processes to translate business requirements into BI solutions.
Deep knowledge of Tableau Creator, Explorer, Viewer, and Tableau Server capabilities.
Excellent written, verbal, and meeting facilitation skills.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Dedicated with ability to set priorities and mentor others in a performance driven environment.
