About The Position

Cambia's Data & Analytics Engineering Team is living our mission to make health care easier and lives better. The Data Engineer participates in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure to collect, process, and store large volumes of data for analysis. This role is crucial in making our members' health journeys easier.

Requirements

  • College degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • One year experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, functional systems design, or configuration and/or acceptance testing.
  • Experience with a business area that is supported by this position (i.e., Provider Network and Contract Management, Digital Solutions, Pricing, Membership, Claims, etc.).
  • Expertise in data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow).
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Scala) and query languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Google BigQuery).
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend), big data tools (Hadoop, Spark), cloud storage, and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Airflow).

Responsibilities

  • Developing and optimizing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and availability for data scientists and analysts.
  • Building and maintaining data warehouses or data lakes (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Hadoop).
  • Automating data workflows and ensuring scalability of data systems.
  • Working with big data technologies to handle structured and unstructured data.
