The Data & Payroll Analytics Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy, data integrity, and operational efficiency. This position combines data analytics, payroll operations, and automation to streamline processes, improve reporting, and support payroll execution across new and existing locations.

Requirements

  • Power BI (including DAX)
  • SQL (Databricks SQL, MSSQL)
  • Microsoft Excel (Power Query, advanced formulas)
  • Microsoft Access
  • Strong understanding of payroll data and HRIS systems

Nice To Haves

  • Python (automation, ETL)
  • Experience with Databricks/PySpark
  • Paylocity HCM Platform

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards for leadership and payroll teams.
  • Develop DAX measures for accurate, flexible insights.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across reporting assets.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks SQL and PySpark.
  • Ingest, clean, and transform data for the enterprise data warehouse.
  • Support enhancements to data models and architecture.
  • Partner with Payroll to automate:
  • Attendance tracking
  • Onboarding workflows for acquisitions
  • Bonus plan calculations and HRIS integrations
  • Assist with payroll processing, data validation, and timely execution.
  • Manage exception reports to resolve discrepancies.
  • Build payroll models for newly acquired shops.
  • Compare legacy payroll systems vs. GreatWater’s platform for accuracy.
  • Automate complex bonus plans in HRIS.
  • Validate payouts and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails.
  • Respond to data-related tickets and resolve reporting issues.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure stability of reporting and payroll systems.
