About The Position

Make your mark for patients We are looking for a Data Ownership Lead with strong patient data expertise who is operationally driven , analytical and passionate to join us in our Global Data Acquisition and Advanced Analytics team . This position can be based in our Atlanta, Georgia, Raleigh, North Carolina, or Boston, Massachusetts. This hybrid role (at least 40% of the time in office) is limited to 10% travel domestically. About the role You will support the Global Data Acquisition team by onboarding contracted data, ensuring proper data management, and enforcing compliance with regulatory, contractual, and UCB policy requirements. The role requires expertise in global privacy frameworks and provides guidance across the full data lifecycle. You will maintain the Global Data Catalog, supports data users through training and best‑practice communication, and collaborates with Legal, Compliance, IT, the Data Office, and other stakeholders to ensure compliant data usage and manage any remediations needed. Who you’ll work with Internally, you will work with the Head of Data Acquisition Strategy, Legal and Compliance Leads (US/Global), IT, Data Office, Purchasing, Finance, Regional Data Operations Teams, Business and Functional Leads/Heads. Externally, you will work with external secondary data vendors, globally. What you’ll do You will be responsible for enabling exceptional business impact through expert knowledge and enablement of data assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative area
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working with various forms of pharmaceutical data
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience partnering with internal and external partners
  • Minimum of 2 years exposure with quantitative data evaluation
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in healthcare data, particularly U.S. and ex-U.S. patient - level claims data
  • Strong ability to translate diverse patient data questions into analytical approaches
  • Creativity in integrating disparate datasets to solve complex business problems
  • Agile, test - and - learn mindset
  • Skilled at tailoring communication to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Creative problem-solving mindset to overcome technical and organizational roadblocks
  • Service oriented and results driven, with strong motivation to deliver meaningful impact
  • Familiarity with data quality techniques

Responsibilities

  • Partner with external data vendors and internal teams to onboard contracted data.
  • Work with IT, the Data Office, and external partners to ensure data governance aligns with Global Data Office requirements.
  • Guide data processes across the lifecycle (onboarding, use, retirement/retention) to keep assets current and fit for purpose.
  • Maintain visibility of all acquired data and keep the Global Data Catalog updated with accurate information and metadata.
  • Liaise with Global Data Acquisition, IT, Data Office, Legal, and Compliance to meet regulatory, contractual, and policy requirements.
  • Stay current on privacy and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, etc.) and advise teams accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance of patient‑level data tokenization in the US and globally, including expert‑determination requirements.
  • Apply risk‑management practices to reduce non‑compliance risks.
  • Lead remediation efforts with Legal and Compliance when issues arise.
  • Develop training on data, compliance, and regulatory frameworks for data users.
