The Data Operations Engineer at Clorox plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing enterprise data platforms across SAP and Azure cloud ecosystems. This position focuses on ensuring the smooth operation, scalability, and reliability of data products that support critical business functions such as supply chain and finance. The engineer will collaborate with offshore teams, provide hands-on support for SAP BW and Datasphere, and maintain documentation of workflows and processes while championing best practices in data governance and security.

  • Manage, monitor, and optimize data pipelines across SAP BW, Datasphere, Analytics Cloud, and Azure tools like ADF and Databricks.
  • Work with internal and offshore engineering teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data products, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Continuously analyze and enhance data pipelines for efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of workflows, processes, and data product configurations, adhering to best practices for data governance and security.
  • Partner with supply chain, finance, and analytics stakeholders to ensure data products meet business requirements.
  • Work within an Agile product team structure and collaborate with product owners, technical leads, engineers and analysts.
  • Hire, onboard, and manage a team of 4-10 contract/managed service provider engineers.
  • 7 plus years of hands-on experience in SAP data platforms (S4HANA, SAP BW on HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud) and exposure to Azure data services (ADF, Databricks).
  • 5 plus years of experience with data warehousing, business intelligence with substantial experience in supporting large-scale data solutions.
  • 4 plus years with business intelligence using technologies like SAC, Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • 3 plus years of experience with Azure services like Data Factory, Databricks, and Delta Lake will be an added advantage.
  • Strong technical expertise, collaborative problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead operational improvements in a global, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in end-to-end support for data engineering solutions (Data Pipelines), including designing, developing, deploying, and supporting solutions for existing platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and database management.
  • Familiarity with scripting tools like PowerShell or Bash.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Control M, Azure Monitor for pipeline optimization.
