About The Position

Bayview Asset Management (BAM), founded in 1993, is an investment management firm specializing in mortgage and consumer credit investments. They are seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join their IT Data Operations team. This cross-functional role operates at the intersection of residential, consumer, and commercial loan analytics, capital markets, and structured finance. The Analyst will support BAM’s core mortgage-related activities, including loan acquisitions and sales, securitization preparation, collateral management, and various data and strategy initiatives. Positioned within the Capital Markets group, this role offers direct exposure to trading, research, system development, operations, and structuring teams. The ideal candidate should be analytically strong, technically proficient, and eager to drive impact through data-driven insights and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data and insights both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Talend, or DataStage
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehouse design, and cloud technologies
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, SQL, and Python required
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to proprietary systems and new tools
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments and builds strong stakeholder relationships
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high-quality work in fast-paced settings
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare loan tape data for internal credit models, investor deliverables, and rating agency packages
  • Assist in designing and implementing ETL pipelines to extract data from various systems, such as SQL databases, CRM, and flat files
  • Cleaning, formatting, and transforming raw data into usable formats for analytical purposes, including data warehousing
  • Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining ETL mappings and workflows
  • Developing and performing unit tests to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Optimizing ETL workflows for better performance and efficiency
  • Providing production support for ETL jobs, debugging issues, and reducing technical defects
  • Provide analytics support across residential, consumer, and commercial dept, as well as to strategy and structuring teams
  • Conduct quarterly residential loan portfolio valuations (institutional level) and provide market commentary and pricing perspectives
  • Perform collateral integrity checks, identify and troubleshoot data anomalies, and enhance validation procedures
  • Prepare daily rate-lock updates, daily position reports, and month-end collateral reviews
  • Contribute to automation and AI-driven initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and improve daily workflows
  • Partner with research, technology, and operations teams to build scalable and game-changing solutions that contribute to the team’s evolving front-office function
  • Manage and prioritize intraday and ad-hoc data requests from trading desks and internal stakeholders
