Requirements

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in applied data science, computer information systems, or computer science with data science knowledge, required or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least three years of progressive experience in data-driven, applied social science activities, including data science, analytics, visualization and consulting across complex organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Data science, or computer science training or certification, preferred.
  • Experience with software statistical packages and business intelligence programs, e.g., APIs, R, Python, SQL, or AWS.
  • Tableau or PowerBI, preferred, Salesforce preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain key data sets related to the foundation’s mission, vision and strategy.
  • Build and maintain internal tools for analysis.
  • Develop best practices for data management and maintain data project documentation for RLE.
  • Build strong relationships across the RLE team to provide data support and identify opportunities for data driven analysis.
  • Implement internal data management approaches that improve Foundation effectiveness and the potential for citywide impact.
  • Regularly respond to community feedback related to the Foundation’s research and data agenda to identify emerging and ongoing data needs and adjust based on this input.
  • Track ad-hoc data requests from external stakeholders, identifying themes, and recommending new data products and deliverables that address consistent needs.
  • Support the Foundation’s data strategy and operations while complying with GDPR, FERPA, PII, and CPA standards.
