Banesco USA is seeking a Data Officer for our Data Management unit. The primary job duties include driving the development and implementation of the bank's data management strategy, developing the roadmap, setting milestones, creating and continuously strengthening a proud culture of BUSA data ownership, and ensuring alignment with the bank's long-term objectives. This includes championing key strategic initiatives, such as the bank’s multi-year Data Management project. The Data Officer will act as the primary liaison between business departments and the BI team, gathering requirements and ensuring data solutions meet business needs. Responsibilities also include developing, establishing, and maintaining data governance processes to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams, creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, and providing ongoing maintenance and support for existing data management solutions. The role requires establishing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), providing training and support to end-users, analyzing data-related challenges, ensuring compliance with bank policies, and implementing security measures within data management solutions.

  • Implement appropriate security measures within data management solutions.
  • Abide by the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management Policy.
  • Complete all assigned annual training programs.
  • Perform other functions and/or duties as assigned by manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in data management, data governance, or business analysis.
  • Proven expertise in data governance principles and data quality management.
  • Strong understanding of reporting platforms and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Oracle, AS400.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI and SQL Reporting Services.
  • Bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
  • Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP).
  • Experience with Jack Henry & Associates banking core systems.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Google Workspace Apps and Microsoft Office Suite.
