About The Position

SAIC is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support a USG big data program focused on Extracting, Transforming, and Loading (ETL) incoming datasets for various downstream systems and analysts. The role involves working within an Agile team to enhance the speed of data delivery for both structured and unstructured data, contributing to national security objectives.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in data science, computer science, information engineering, or a related subject, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with big data technologies and platforms, such as Databricks, AWS EMR, and Apache Spark
• Ability to develop and maintain data models and map incoming data sets to the appropriate model
• Experience developing required database schemas containing windows, screens, tables, columns, and reports that support the database model
• Experience using and creating SQL, including creating/querying tables, joining tables, and extracting data across multiple data sets
• Proficiency in coding with Python, PySpark, and Java
• Experience with Apache NiFi
• Ability to write data sets to AWS S3 storage
• Ability to identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes
• Experience with Agile tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and GitHub
• Creative problem solver with critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data models in accordance with customer requirements
• Perform periodic assessments of authorized data models for potential adjustments
• Support execution of the ETL process on periodic and one-time data sets, including conditioning and writing out modified data sets
• Support analysis of conditioned data sets to ensure compliance with current data models
