Equal Opportunity Employer Veterans/Disabled Position Title: Data Modeler - GEOINT Standards (Ontologist) Expert Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI Location: Springfield, VA Position Description As a member of NGA’s GEOINT Standards team, serve as a Subject Mater Expert (SME) on development of Ontologies in support of GEOINT operations and relating these ontologies to existing and emerging GEOINT Data Standards. Collaborate with the NGA GEOINT Standards team to develop capability-based standards profiles and reference architectures to enable search, discovery, access, retrieval, integrated intelligence, and advanced analytics. Key Duties: Ontology Modeling and Design Ontology / Query Languages: demonstrated experience in languages such as OWL, RDF, SKOS, SPARQL, etc. Ontology Design Principles: demonstrated experience leveraging best practices for creating robust and maintainable ontologies. Ontology Development Tools: demonstrated experience with ontology editors and tools for knowledge representation and reasoning. Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Knowledge Graphs: demonstrated experience mapping and representing knowledge in structured formats. Reasoning Engines: demonstrated experience with various reasoning engines and their capabilities. Semantic Web Technologies: demonstrated experience with leveraging technologies such as Linked Data & Semantic Web standards. Data Management and Integration Data Extraction and Transformation: demonstrated experience extracting, transforming, and loading data into ontologies Data Integration: demonstrated experience with integrating data from multiple sources into a unified ontology. Data Governance: demonstrated experience with ontology, governance, and management principles. Domain Expertise Knowledge of GEOINT: basic understanding of GEOINT and TCPED process. Core Ontologies: demonstrated understanding of Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) and related Common Core Ontologies (CCO).

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree plus 10 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of experience, or Associates degree plus 14 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a related field
