About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Acquisition Engineer specializing in data to support the integration of newly acquired stores into our organization. This role focuses on extracting, validating, and importing data from diverse systems to ensure smooth and accurate onboarding. What You'll Do: Partner with newly acquired companies to understand their legacy systems, data structures, and business processes. Work directly with acquired company personnel to extract required data from legacy platforms. Transform extracted data into standard formats for downstream matching and import processes. Maintain, support, and enhance SSIS packages that automate the import of data into our custom POS. Troubleshoot data quality, transformation, ETL, and import issues across the acquisition integration lifecycle. Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure converted data is complete, accurate, and ready for import into internal POS and related systems. Use Excel and SQL to review, cleanse, transform, and validate data during conversion activities. Help identify opportunities to improve conversion quality, reduce manual work, and strengthen the scalability of the integration process as acquisition volume grows. Design, build, and maintain ETL workflows using TSQL, SSIS, and related data integration tools. Extract critical data from multiple systems and database platforms during acquisitions. Collaborate with internal teams to run data matching processes and reconcile discrepancies. Load validated datasets into internal systems while ensuring data quality, integrity, and auditability. Partner directly with acquisition teams and internal stakeholders to provide technical data support. Analyze existing datasets and workflows to optimize data intake and transformation processes.

Requirements

Ability to work directly with acquired company teams and internal stakeholders to gather data, clarify business rules, and resolve issues.
Experience in data conversion, data migration, ETL development, system integration, or operational data support.
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate, cleanse, transform, review, and validate data.
Working knowledge of T-SQL for querying, validation, troubleshooting, and data transformation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to review data, identify anomalies, reconcile issues, and support accurate conversion outcomes.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple acquisition integrations at the same time.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business users.
Experience with gathering data such as Sales history, purchase order, receipts, Accounts receivable, etc. Customer, suppliers
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
A willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong understanding of ETL principles, data transformation logic, and workflow dependencies.
Pulling data/reports from foreign ERP systems for import to SiteOne POS system
Proficiency with T‑SQL, stored procedures, and scripting for data manipulation.
Hands‑on experience with SSIS package development, deployment, and debugging.
Familiarity with networks, hardware, and software support.
Basic project management and task‑tracking abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly.
Experience with ERP systems like EpiCore, QuickBooks‑type applications (preferred but not required).
Advanced Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant professional experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with customer, product, supplier, purchase order, invoice, accounts receivable, and sales history data.
Experience with QuickBooks, Epicor, or similar ERP, or POS systems.
Familiarity with SSIS package support, maintenance, or development.
4+ years of hands‑on T‑SQL experience (nice to have)
2+ years of SSIS experience. (nice to have)
