About The Position

Senior Data Migration Engineer is needed to lead and execute the migration of critical IT Service Management (ITSM) data from BMC Remedy to Jira Service Management for a state government client. This role requires a strong understanding of both BMC Remedy and Jira Service Management platforms, expertise in data migration strategies and methodologies, especially using SQL and PostgreSQL, and experience working within a government environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data migration, specifically from legacy ITSM systems to modern platforms.
• Demonstrable expertise in BMC Remedy administration and data structures.
• Strong proficiency in Jira Service Management configuration, administration, and its features.
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, including advanced querying, scripting, and stored procedures.
• Experience working with government clients and understanding the nuances of public sector IT projects.
• Utilize SQL and PostgreSQL databases to facilitate data manipulation, cleansing, and validation during the migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the end-to-end data migration from BMC Remedy to Jira.
• Analyze and extract data from Remedy's backend using SQL or API access.
• Deep understanding of ITSM platforms (BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management).
• Familiarity with Jira REST APIs, CSV Importer, and Jira cloud/on-prem administration.
