About The Position

The position is responsible for ensuring accurate student record keeping in accordance with the procedures set forth by the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). The role involves data entry processes, analyzing data for students, responding to data requests, and maintaining confidentiality while providing accurate information to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience directly related to computer systems requiring knowledge of editing and completing source data.
  • Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Apps.
  • Knowledge of student accounting procedures and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the functionality of a student information system.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize and maintain records.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn district policies and procedures rapidly and apply them appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the student information system expert for the school, selecting, summarizing, analyzing, and reviewing data for accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain computerized records of student attendance and attendance reports.
  • Reconcile manual and computer reports monthly and provide files for school accountability.
  • Maintain, generate, and distribute student demographic, scheduling, grading information, and medical records.
  • Prepare student information system data for the beginning and end of the year, including promotions and retentions.
  • Review information for Uniform Education Reporting System (UERS) reporting areas.
  • Maintain data storage of student records for up to 5 years.
  • Provide information and training to school staff on the use of the student information system.
  • Coordinate user security within the student information system and with district personnel.
  • Attend workshops and webinars to maintain knowledge of the student information system used by the district.
  • Work with administration and guidance to build the master schedule and related tasks/reports.
  • Assist parents with registration and enrollment procedures and provide assistance with centralized enrollment.
