About The Position

The Data Management / Marketing Assistant at NJIT is a part-time role within the Cooperative Education department, focusing on managing the Handshake database and supporting employer relations. The position involves administrative tasks, event coordination, and marketing material creation, aimed at enhancing career development services for students.

Requirements

  • Working towards a MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in the IT field, including data management and/or programming.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel and Access.
  • Basic knowledge of Tableau or Power BI for data visualization.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Drupal and Handshake.
  • Basic hardware/software installation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of the Handshake database, including approving employer access requests and reviewing job postings.
  • Run reports and perform data entry and management tasks related to the database.
  • Coordinate and manage employer information sessions, including guest greeting and student check-in.
  • Compile attendance lists and follow up with employers post-event.
  • Respond to employer inquiries via phone or email regarding Handshake access and job postings.
  • Conduct outreach to employers with reminders about career fairs and recruiting events.
  • Create and update employer marketing materials such as flyers and social media graphics.
  • Assist in planning and promoting the Career Fair and other signature events.
  • Research and identify new employment opportunities for NJIT students and assist in outreach efforts.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and assist with note-taking and tracking action items.
  • Provide general administrative support to the CDS office as needed.
