About The Position

Develop and maintain data governance frameworks for AFIMSC enterprise data. Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force data management policies. Establish data quality standards and monitor adherence across systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship roles. Support metadata management and data cataloging initiatives. Implement processes for data lifecycle management and retention. Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure data handling. Provide training and guidance on data governance best practices. Develop documentation for data governance policies and procedures. Assist in audits and reporting related to data compliance.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Governance, or related field.
  • FIVE (5) or more years of experience in data management and governance.
  • Ability to operate successfully on remote, hybrid, or on-site projects in the San Antonio metro area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Data Governance or related discipline.
  • Certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with metadata management tools and data catalogs.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy and compliance standards.
  • Experience with data quality monitoring and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to develop and enforce data policies and procedures.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Air Force data governance projects.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML data governance considerations.
  • Familiarity with data catalog tools like Collibra or Alation.
  • Experience with data lineage and impact analysis.
  • Understanding of zero-trust security models.
  • Experience with agile methodologies for governance implementation.
  • Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Ability to lead data governance working groups.
