About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Data Management Consultant to support our clients in Retail and FMCG. You will play a hands-on role in managing data throughout its lifecycle, ensuring it is governed, trusted, and optimised for business value. This role requires strong collaboration across business and technical teams, and the ability to champion best practices in data management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in data management or governance roles, with strong exposure to Master Data Management (MDM).
• Experience in fast-paced Retail or FMCG organisations.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, including metadata management, stewardship, and ownership.
• Familiarity with GDPR and data protection regulations.
• Ideally DAMA-DMBOK knowledge; CDMP certification is a plus.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with data governance tools (Alation desirable).
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, alongside Data Owners and the central data management function, customer and organisational data across the full lifecycle.
• Develop, own, and communicate data management documentation, ensuring it is regularly updated.
• Support data engineers, architects, and wider stakeholders with expertise, process, and knowledge to improve lifecycle management.
• Promote the value of data management, driving efficiencies and cost reduction.
• Establish and facilitate governance forums such as Data Governance Working Groups in collaboration with MDM functions.
