About the position
The Data Link Operator at JT4, LLC is responsible for operating and managing Joint Data Network (JDN) and Link-16 equipment, ensuring effective communication and data transfer between military platforms. This role involves technical operations, maintenance of complex electronic systems, and coordination with various military units to support tactical data link operations. The position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and effective communication skills to manage network requirements and training for link operators.
Responsibilities
- Perform operations on assigned Joint Data Network (JDN) / Link-16 equipment.
- Support functions as a network manager for locally operated networks.
- Extract data from Operational Tasking Data Links (OPTASK LINK) messages for tactical operations.
- Align track number blocks with procedures indicated in the appropriate TDL section of the OPTASK LINK.
- Act as a Multi-TDL expert and interface between wing TDL participants and other elements of the TDL operational infrastructure.
- Coordinate unit TDL equipment requirements and networks to meet local unit needs.
- Maintain a TDL reference library and manage training requirements for link operators.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as directed.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent military training.
- Minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field.
- Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles.
- Practical knowledge of test methods and practices for engineering procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
