About The Position

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking a data management professional to support researchers in the Research and Community Development departments. This role involves providing data reference services, managing data compliance, delivering training, and collaborating with researchers to enhance productivity while adhering to policies and contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Library/Information Science or a related degree.
  • Experience with scripting languages and/or tools for data manipulation (e.g. Python, SQL, R, Stata).
  • Strong familiarity with economics-, banking-, and finance-related concepts, datasets, and other information.
  • Ability to identify and manage potential risks by elevating concerns and leveraging effective relationships with colleagues.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and track workflow efficiently.
  • Strong multi-tasker.
  • Facility with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data reference services including answering researchers' questions, data cataloging, updating and maintaining documentation, and communicating with data providers.
  • Provide data management services to researchers, including support for using and managing data in compliance with license terms and internal information security requirements.
  • Deliver outreach and training opportunities to educate researchers about data management practices.
  • Actively manage data on premises and in the cloud, including access control, process documentation, troubleshooting data automation processes, and data archiving.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of local IT infrastructure and Bank policies to improve researchers' productivity while adhering to policy and contractual constraints.
  • Represent researchers' needs in negotiation of data contracts with third parties.
  • Establish dynamic, collaborative networks and relationships with researchers and staff in other Reserve Banks.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to increase personal knowledge and skills to improve services and integrate best practices.
  • Adhere to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.
