About The Position

We are a global technology consulting firm that partners with leading financial institutions to deliver innovative digital solutions. Our teams specialize in delivering complex, high-impact technology projects across banking, insurance, capital markets, and fintech sectors. As Data Lead, you will spearhead data strategy and execution for GFT’s consulting engagements. This role is critical in enabling clients to harness data for transformation, ensuring governance, integrity, and advanced analytics capabilities across projects.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience delivering end-to-end data and analytics solutions in client-facing environments.
  • Experience working with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or Pulumi.
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency.
  • Strong working knowledge of Python and Spark for data processing and analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns, including data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Experience using modern data engineering tools such as dbt and Airflow.
  • Experience building dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI or Tableau.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in multi-cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning fundamentals.
  • Experience with Generative AI solutions, including RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).
  • Hands-on experience with Vector Databases.
  • Experience using Looker, Sigma, or Streamlit, especially for rapid Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • Prior involvement in R&D initiatives or pre-sales activities, including client demos and technical discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy & Architecture - Define and implement enterprise data strategies aligned with client objectives. - Design scalable architectures for cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Data Governance & Compliance - Establish governance frameworks and ensure adherence to regulatory standards (GDPR, CCPA). - Maintain data quality, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Analytics & Insights - Lead advanced analytics initiatives, including AI/ML integration. - Translate complex datasets into actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Leadership & Collaboration - Mentor and manage data engineers, analysts, and consultants. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Client Engagement - Serve as a trusted advisor for data-related decisions. - Present strategies and outcomes to senior stakeholders
