About The Position

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern to support the Office of Equity and Civil Rights (OECR) Data Team during the summer term. This paid internship offers valuable hands-on experience in data analysis and integrity, with opportunities to learn tools like SQL and Power BI. The role is designed for college students in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year, and aims to drive equity through data. The position is temporary and does not include the typical benefits available for permanent employees, although temporary employees may be eligible for employee health benefits as outlined in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Requirements

• Current college student in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year.
• Interest in the study of statistics, computer science, data science, or any major that involves training in quantitative data analysis.
• Interest in data analysis and data integrity.
• Experience with SQL, Microsoft Excel, or other data tools.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with OECR's Data Manager to design and document a data review process.
• Review form data in the CRCT database for completeness and accuracy.
• Document and present review findings internally (and potentially externally).
• Build a Power BI report to track and visualize data import errors.
